GIRLS Allie
Tag No: 4413
Registered Name: Ranco Brandy
Age: 5
Color: Brindle
Cat friendly: Yes
Dog friendly: Yes
Kid friendly: No
Location: Maltby, WA (Foster)
Comments: Allie is a gorgeous girl with the most engaging amber eyes. Due to her assertive behavior with many people she needs a firm but gentle hand from a very experienced greyhound person. She is cat friendly, small and farm animal safe, but would be best in a home without children. She loves treats and mealtime, and has easily learned "sit" and "down". She loves car rides, but will at times bark at people if they approach.

Bailey
Tag No: 3245
Registered Name: SS Misty Sue
Age: 9
Color: Fawn
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Prefers Greyhounds
Kid Friendly: Older
Location: Edmonds, WA (Foster)
Comments: Bailey has the most amazing ears that will either flop over her face, wrap around over the top of her head or end up with one forward and one back. When she shakes her head, she rearranges her ear fashion for the moment. She has the sweetest personality with little prances and major tail wags. Bailey's a little timid with new situations but it doesn't take her long to warm up, once she feels safe and secure. She has no separation anxiety and may do well as an only dog although she would probably prefer the company of another Greyhound since she lived with one for many years in her previous home. She loves walks and is very easy on-leash. At one time, she had a toe amputation but it doesn't seem to slow her down at all except for a slight limp at times and not wanting to walk on uneven surfaces such as wood chips and rocks. Bailey knows a number of commands such as sit, wait, down, come and let's go. Bailey was our January Dog of the Month.

Dee
Tag No: 4740
Registered Name: Detour Road
Age: 9
Color: Fawn
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: OK with greyhounds, unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Snohomish, WA (Foster)
Comments: Dee is a very sweet and very curious little girl. She certainly doesn't act like a 9 year old. Just this morning she all of a sudden decided she wanted to play with one of my shoes. I gave her a toy, which she had ignored until this point and she is now playing with toys. Food is finally becoming interesting to her since being here although she wants to check out everyone else's food to see if they have something better. From the minute that she walked in she has acted like she's always been in a home. What a wonderful loving companion she will make for someone. Dee also gets along absolutely fine with all the various greyhounds in her foster home. Dee was our September 2007 Dog of the Month.

Pam & Kyle BainbridgeElvira
Tag No: 4809
Registered Name: Queen Elvira
Age: 5.5
Color: Brindle
Cat Friendly: Yes
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Older, see comments
Location: Sequim, WA (Foster)
Comments: Elvira is a sweet, quiet and easy girl, and has the longest tail you've ever seen. She is very "careful" about who she will make friends with and is especially careful around men, but when she trusts you, she's fine. She really comes to life when around Greyhounds, so we would recommend a home with at least one other, but two or three would be perfect for her. She's not good with strangers and prefers to be in a place away from the activity when strangers are in our home, but she seems perfectly content to stay in the bedroom away from it all. She loves to play ball and will bring it back. If it squeaks, even better. Elvira has shown no signs of separation anxiety or counter surfing. She knows some words - no, ball, and ride. Small children would not be a good idea for this little girl. She likes a calmer environment. She cat tested well and even though we don't have a cat, I think she'd be fine. She's greyt with our little Westie. She's a very polite guest in our home and she deserves a home that will love her for who she is. Elvira's a keeper! She's a little bit aloof, but very sweet and very, very worth the love you can give her. She will answer it with a special look she gets in her eyes.

Age: 8.5
Color: White & Black

Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown

Comments: Love Bug is very friendly and outgoing. She was a brood mom and had 7 pups. She is delightful and has the most beautifully soft coat. Love Bug does have pannus, which is inexpensive to treat but may require lifelong meds. Love Bug would prefer a home without kitties.

Registered Name: Sol Puzzle
Age: 3.5
Color: Brindle
Cat Friendly: Needs to be evaluated
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Older, since she likes to jump on people
Location: Lacey, WA (Foster)
Comments: Puzzle is the sweetest girl. She gets along with everyone. Her only negative is that she gets so excited, she tries to jump on you. We are working on this. She was returned with Major due to a change in family circumstances. They really love each other and get along beautifully. She loves her walks and the riding in the car. She loves squeaky toys. Puzzle knows several commands.
Roz
Tag No: 3638
Registered Name: Roz Claiborn
Age: 10
Color: Fawn
Cat Friendly: Yes
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Older
Location: Bothell, WA (Foster)
Comments: Roz is a sweet, shy gal in need of a somewhat quiet home to live out the rest of her senior years. She's shy when she first meets you but she's a real charmer once she gets to know you. Roz loves walks - her ears perk up and she does a happy dance when the leashes come out, and she loves car rides as well. She dearly loves walking with her pack in her foster home with 3 other greyhounds. Roz comes with a large dowry consisting of her own beds, coats, toys, zoom groom, clippers and more
Ruby
Tag No: 4824
Registered Name: Ruby Ronin
Age: 5
Color: Red Fawn
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Fine with greyhounds, unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Olympia, WA (Foster)
Comments: Ruby is a total sweetheart! She is easygoing, and laid back but knows how to have fun too. Ruby will often lay down in the turnout yard to beg for belly rubs from the volunteers. It is the cutest thing! Ruby ran 140 races and is ready to retire in your home. She would prefer a home without kitties.
Seby
Tag No: 4811
Registered Name: Unknown
Age: Nearly 2
Color: Black
Cat Friendly: Trainable with experience or dominant cat
Dog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, unknown with others
Kid Friendly: Unknown
Location: Bothell, WA (Foster)
Comments: Seby is a happy, playful girl. She has the cutest overbite and a beautiful coat. She can seem a little shy at first, but don't let that fool you. If homed with a kitty, the owner should have some experience and/or kitty should be a dominant cat willing to put Seby in her place if she gets too curious. This sweet girl is quite timid but is slowly coming out of her shell. She gets along with her greyhound roommates, play bowing and just running around the yard. Her white feet, white tail tip, and white chest makes her look(cross) dressed and ready for the ball. Her parents couldn't afford orthodonture so she has a very cute overbite which does not slow her down at dinnertime. She is full of love, just waiting to share.

Tag No: 4773
Registered Name: ?
Age: 4
Color: White with Dark Brindle
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Ok with larger
Kid Friendly: Seems friendly with children but doesn't live with any
Location: Tacoma, WA (Foster)
Comments: Stacy is a joy.She is very curious and enthusiastic about almost everything. She loves to prance and dance, and place herself in a position to be petted just sooo. Stacy is an energetic girl, eager to please, and adapting well to her retirement. She is always ready to go for a ride or walk, or even just into the Big Yard to run. She can be a bit dominant, so would do best with a dog savy pack leader who is willing to enforce the order of the new pack. Stacy suffers from separation anxiety when left alone. She has had no problems when left with the other 2 greyhounds in her foster home. Stacy is very sweet and attentive and definitely a bed snuggler. She has been learning her place here and what the rules are very quickly. I believe she thinks all small faces are meant to be washed and does her best to get the job done. She has learned to sit, goes to bed when told to, comes when she is called, has been totally housetrained since she first came, either by a doggie door or by letting you know she needs to go out. She is not afrraid to bark and tell you exactly what she does or does not want. She is very good in the house, with people coming and going (greyt opportunity to push bigger dogs aside so see can get more affection or treats.) Stacy is very clever and comes up with new ways to entertain all the time. She has had several changes in her lifetime and is most eager to move on to her forver home! She would do very well with a work at home or stay at home person, older children would be good, and lots of walks would make her extremely happy Stacy is our April Dog of the Month.
