Help Bring the Track Dogs Home For the Holidays! On December 19, 2009 the Phoenix, Arizona track will
close. The closing is displacing many, many dogs in both Phoenix and Tucson. Already
Tucson has gone from moving 20 dogs every other month to moving 40 dogs every two weeks!!!
And this will continue well into 2010.
We are going to bring some of the Arizona dogs
to the Pacific Northwest. We have a load of 10 dogs arriving on approximately December
13th. To do this, we need your help. Bringing in the track dogs will cost GPI
approximately $4,000.
We also have a load of dogs scheduled to arrive
from Arizona in mid to late February.
In addition to the track dogs, many of you know
sweet Bella. Bella has been with us since mid September. So far GPI has had approximately
$2,000 in medical expenses for Bella. Read Bella’s story.
With the fundraiser, any additional monies we
receive will be put towards Bella's medical expenses and/or bringing in additional track
dogs.
Whether you can give $5 or $500 it all helps.
Please put “Track Dogs” in the ‘Designation’ field.
As an added incentive, each donor (December 1st
to December 31st) will be entered into a random drawing. Five lucky donors (one from each
category) will receive a greyhound related item. Check out the Prizes! The drawing will be
held on January 3rd. Be sure to put “Track Dogs” in the ‘Designation’
field so we can enter you for the drawing. See our Prizes page.
Any donations of $250 or more will receive an
engraved greyhound on our Gifting Tree.
Any monies received in excess of the $6,000
will be put towards helping us bring in another load of dogs from Arizona in February.
December 12th Update: 10 dogs
(5 boys and 5 girls) arrived safely from Arizona. Thank you to the volunteers who helped
with the load!
December 15th Update: The 10
dogs were all bathed! Thank you to our bathers!
December 16th Update: The
first of the Arizona dogs started going to the vet.
December 22nd Update: We
want to thank everyone for their incredible generosity!!! We’ll be posting an update
shortly on the dollars raised to date, but we are well over the $6,000 mark. We are
extremely grateful and thankful for everyone’s generosity. The funds raised will help
us with the extra dogs we brought in from Arizona this month, Bella’s vet bills, and
with bringing in additional dogs from Arizona over the next couple of months to help with

We’re down to the last few days of the Fundraiser!! Your tax deductible (USA)
donations will help us bring in additional dogs from Arizona in 2010 as well as paying for
