Dearly missed by Colleen and Rich Stranix
A few years ago a fellow by the name of Clyde moved to BC from eastern Canada. He brought with him two precious greyhounds. Clyde was a greyt volunteer and an even greyter friend. He attended all the events, fostered numerous pups for GPI and then died suddenly of a heart attack a couple of years ago. His daughter took his greyhounds, but then her family situation changed, having a new baby, etc. and decided she just didn't have the time for them. That's when we officially adopted Buddy, one of Clyde's dogs. Buddy had known us since he moved out here and was always one of my favourites. Well the time came today for me to help reunite Buddy with his real Dad. Buddy was almost 12, and he really helped me over the loss of his Dad.
When you see your Dad Buddy, please give him a greyt big wet one from me. Run pain free old boy.
I love you

Buddy, Stryker and their dad, Clyde. Buddy and Clyde are together again.
Clyde Pinkney moved to the Vancouver BC area in 2001. When he lived in Ontario he was involved in Greyhound Rescue. He brought his two greyhounds with him, Buddy and Striker. Ever since Clyde moved here, he became heavily involved with GPI. He was one of the most dedicated volunteers and before long he was doing home visits and education for us and this past spring he decided to foster. He had seven fosters go through his home, and with the help of his own greyhounds, helped the new pups get ready for the retired life. Clyde attended all the GPI functions and anything greyhound related. He was a permanent fixture for us.
Clyde finally relented and ordered some doggy jackets for both his two and his daughter's two greyhounds. On October 31, 2003, he came over here and picked them up and we had a wonderful visit. With Clyde, I always had to be on my toes, as one of his favourite things to do was to tease me. And tease me he did :)
It is with greyt sadness that I have to say that Clyde died the afternoon of October 31. 2003 of what they believed was a heart attack. Clyde had left here about 1:00 in the afternoon, and later phoned me to report how his pups reacted to wearing clothes for the first time. When his daughter Amber and granddaughter 2 1/2 year old Kiarrah came home around 5:00, Clyde had passed away.
