Susie Tag #2811 Race Name: Kid's Sweet Sue Born:  July, 1996 Went to the Rainbow Bridge on April 17, 2006

Our beloved dog Susie (racing name: Kid’s Sweet Sue), went to the Rainbow Bridge on April 17, 2006. We adopted Susie through GPI in 1996 and, true to her name, she was a loving and sweet dog until the very end. Susie was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in January of this year, which presented itself in a lame front leg. We went forward with amputating the leg to make her more comfortable and she was doing wonderfully—racing around the yard on three legs as if it had never happened.  However, several weeks ago it became evident that the cancer had spread.  Susie began having pain in her back legs despite attempts to treat it with several pain medications and, by the end of last week, was unable to walk.  That is when we made the decision send her to the Bridge and end her pain.
