Dearly missed by Leslie & Dave Erik, Daniel, and Michael Dustin, Stryder, Lacey and foster Benny

We adopted Patrick 3 years ago at the age of 10 and he showed us right from the start what a love greyhounds are. Shortly after we brought Patrick into our home, Dave and I were sitting on the couch right next to each other. Patrick came over and looked at Dave and then looked at me and started whining. Dave talked to him and scratched his ears but he kept whining. I said to Dave “Patrick wants me to move and give him my place next to you” Dave laughed and said that was ridicules but Patrick kept whining. I moved to the end of the couch and Patrick jumped up, curled next to Dave, put his head in Dave lap, heaved a huge sigh and fell asleep. From that moment on Dave belonged to Patrick. Every evening Patrick had to have “Daddy time”

This evening Dave and I, our middle son Daniel and Marchet bid Patrick a tearful farewell. Patrick has been declining over the past year. He got to the point of not being able to get himself up at times, and not being able to walk very far before falling. For Dave this has been a most difficult decision. How do you say goodbye to your best friend, faithful companion and goofball. The time never seems right for us, but it was the right time for Patrick.

We know that Patrick was met at the Rainbow bridge by his brother Rico who proceeded him exactly one year ago. Run free and run far sweet Patrick, you will always live in our hearts.
