Dearly missed by Brenda and Russ Wilhite
Ruby came to us as a foster a number if years ago. When we picked her up Russ layed with her in the back of or van to keep her calm. From that moment she was in love and so was he.
After just a few weeks a family came to adopt Ruby and I told Russ it was the right thing to do to let her go so we could continue to do the good work of fostering more dogs. He wasn’t happy but reluctantly agreed.
A few months passed after Ruby left and we didn’t have fosters as we were to busy with school but Russ had just graduated Nursing school. Janet called to ask if we would take Ruby back as she was being returned. I agreed without even calling Russ first. Once she returned home to us she hopped right up on the couch next to Russ like she always had before.
We adopted Ruby shortly after as Russ said he wouldn’t allow me to give his dog away again. She grew to love and trust everyone in our house and her human grandparents.
She loved to play in the back yard with the other dogs and go for walks but most of all she loved her spot on the couch.
Ruby left us today after suddenly experiencing tremendous pain and eventually losing control of her hind legs. We worked with our vet to bring her home but her pain was proving to much. She spent her last few days on get spot on the couch bring carried to and from the yard or the car by her dad, Russ. He was with her until the end. She went to wait for us at the Rainbow bridge where she will join Monet. She leaves behind her Forever parents Russ and Brenda and her kids Ariel and Trinity Wilhite, her grand parents Russ and Merri Wilson and her two playmates, Spirit her sister whippet and Meeka Wilson her aunty whippet.
We love you Ruby.
